How to Create an Adsterra Publisher Account: Step-by-Step Guide
A simple step-by-step guide to creating an Adsterra publisher account, adding your website, getting approved, and setting up your first…
The Adsterra ad code update of October 2026 is simple, but it is easy to get wrong. On October 20, 2026, Adsterra switched on its new Ad Intelligence Engine, an AI system that picks the best ad for every single impression. If you joined as a publisher before that date, you need to re-paste your ad codes to get it.
I am Humair Ahmad. I run Adsterra on my own websites and I teach Adsterra to students every week. In this guide I will show you exactly how to finish the update in about ten minutes, without breaking anything and without losing your statistics.
The Ad Intelligence Engine is a machine-learning system that Adsterra trained on more than a decade of its own campaign data. It looks at 50+ signals, such as GEO, device, placement, traffic quality and past conversions, and predicts which ad will perform best before the impression is served.
Adsterra says the engine has already lifted publisher ad revenue by up to 20%, with eCPM gains of 11–24% in its test group. The test started with a representative group of publishers in May 2026. These are Adsterra’s own numbers against its own earlier baseline, so treat them as a guide, not a promise for your site.
The engine works in three layers:
Access is free, and there are no extra fees for existing or new partners. The only work on your side is the Adsterra ad code update described below.
Not everyone has to do something. Here is the official breakdown from Adsterra:
The Adsterra ad code update covers all the main website formats: Popunder, Social Bar (including In-Page Push and Interstitials), Native Banners and classic Banners. If you are not sure what each format does, read my guide to Adsterra ad formats explained.
This is the mistake most people make. Adsterra has already updated your existing codes inside your dashboard. You don’t need to create new ad units for the Adsterra ad code update.
Creating new units just splits your statistics. Your old history stays on the old unit, the new one starts at zero, and it becomes much harder to compare results before and after the change.
Adsterra’s own instruction is clear: go to the Websites page, click GET CODE, copy the code and paste it over the old one. You can read the announcement on the official Adsterra blog.
Set aside ten to fifteen minutes. If you have many sites, do one site at a time so you don’t lose track.
Tip from my own sites: keep a simple list of each ad unit and where it lives. Tick each one off as you replace it. This makes the Adsterra ad code update much faster next time Adsterra changes something.
If you don’t remember where you pasted a code, check these places in order:
For a full walkthrough of each placement option, see my step-by-step guide on how to add Adsterra ads to WordPress.
The Adsterra ad code update works the same way on any platform. On Blogger, look in Layout gadgets and the theme HTML. On a custom site, search your template files for the old script and replace it with the code from GET CODE.
Don’t judge results on the first day. Revenue moves with traffic, country mix and season, so compare a full week before and after the change.
If impressions fall to zero for a unit, the most common causes are:
The fix is almost always the same. Re-copy it from GET CODE, paste it again in a Custom HTML block or code plugin, and clear every cache.
For a single website with two or three ad units, the Adsterra ad code update usually takes about ten minutes. Most of that time is finding where each old code lives.
If you manage many sites, plan for a little longer and work through them one by one. My students with five or more sites usually finish in one sitting by using the checklist further down this page.
The Adsterra ad code update is only the first step. Choosing the right formats, placements and traffic sources is where real growth comes from. Once your codes are updated, it is also a good time to check your payment settings in my guide to the Adsterra minimum payout and payment methods.
In my Adsterra AI Powered Batch 5 course, I show the full setup on screen, from a new website to a monetized one, using AI tools to save time.
No. Only publishers who joined Adsterra before October 20, 2026 need to re-paste their codes. Publishers who joined after that date and all advertisers don’t need to do anything.
No. Adsterra has already updated your existing codes. Just click GET CODE on the Websites page, copy the code and replace the old one on your site. New units only split your statistics.
Adsterra reports up to 20% higher ad revenue and 11–24% higher eCPM in its test group. Results on your own site depend on your traffic, countries and formats, so measure for at least a week.
No. Adsterra says access to the Ad Intelligence Engine is free for existing and new partners, with no extra fees.
It covers Popunder, Social Bar (with In-Page Push and Interstitials), Native Banners and classic Banners. Run the Adsterra ad code update on every one of these units on your sites.
